My son really likes this calculator. It is very easy to use, he didn't even read the manual that much!
Pretty expensive though. I bought TI-83 Plus Silver Edition for my older son for $90. Now that model is obsolete, I expected TI - Nspire to be a similar price, since it is the new TI - 83 Plus Silver they claim!

This is an amazing product.It may be a tad big, but you won't mind after you turn it on.It's wonderful being able to split screens, you can show the lists and a graph at the same time!It makes long complicated steps in the TI-84 seem like a breeze.It's very helpful being able to easily manipulate data with the "mouse".The only drawback i have with this calculator is when you switch keyboards it takes around 15 seconds to load.I recommend anyone needing a graphing calculator to buy this!
 Well designed (almost) but HORRIBLE documentation December 18, 2008

I bought this for a class I was taking, hoping it would be of some use. While the TI-Nspire appears to be a great product, it turned out to be almost completely useless for me as the documentation is literally the worst I've seen in many, many years. I've now printed out a huge amount of material on how to use it but none of those materials really covers the nitty-gritty and it is left up to the user to find something that works.
This is really as shame because the TI-Inspire appears to be a very useful device that is filled with features for many, many different types of students. At the present time, there are also no books available on how to use it (even the "dummy series" - which I generally do not like - keeps getting delayed). After trying to get help for several weeks, I did get a TI rep to help explain a few things but, even then, it was not enough.
The only problems I've had with the hardware is that the the screen can be extremely difficult to read if there is not enough light (it should have been backlighted) and the keys are rather small. If you're careful, you won't have many problem but you do need to make sure that what you've intended to enter is what really made it in.
Another, rather disturbing, problem is that TI has a software application that can be used to create materials for the Nspire. That software, should be provide free but, instead, TI charge almost as much as the device.
At this time, I can't recommend the Nspire unless you have a LOT of time and patience trying to learn how to use it or have someone who is very familiar with it, who can show you.

This calculator...wait, we can't call it that...its now a handheld (whatever), is a good idea but makes no sense. If you have a cell phone you know what hand held technology can do and this expensive device does very little. Its not in color, the batteries last maybe a day, and the key pad is awkward at best. You would be better off buying an iphone and using it to connect to websites that do pretty much the same things that this device does. The ideas are great and the interactivity is really nice but for the price you should get a lot more these days and TI doesn't really seem interested in supporting its devices and only wants your money.

This is a great product. It is working well for my daughter as she is taking an honors Algebra II course. The seller was also great.
