Great Pencil September 13, 2008 One Lone Man (Florida) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Staedtler 925 03 0.3mm pencil is at the low end of the Staedtler line but it's a great pencil! It has a chrome plated removable metal tip and lead sleeve. The rubber grip section can then be removed. The inner tube and lower outer tube are integral but the upper outer barrel is removable. In fact in order to move the Lead Indicator the upper barrel has to be loosened a little. Aside from the chromed tip/lead sleeve and pocket clip as well as the metallic yellow Lead Indicator band the pencil is entirely black. It has the Staedtler name, logo and the numbers 925 03 in silver on the side of the upper body and the lead size on top of the plastic end cap. All in all a very attractive pencil. Aside from the already mentioned metal parts as well as a few inner ones the pencil body is made of tough black plastic and black rubber. The lead tank is generous enough to hold 2 or 3 tubes of lead. Under the end cap is a tiny eraser with a lead sleeve cleaning rod attached. The rod is a very important feature for a drafting pencil. Without it broken lead in the sleeve would be nearly impossible to get out. The pencil is well balanced. Most of the weight is towards the tip, making it much easier to write with. The pencil feels very nicely in the hand and is a pleasure to use whether drawing or writing. Over all I'd say that this pencil is a keeper. It has nice lines and a good feel as well as writing well. I'd give it 5 out of 5 stars.
Bitchin' Pencils May 2, 2007 Bryant Delacruz (Edinburg, TX United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I buy everything Staedtler. Pencils, pens, erasers, engineering paper and other stuff. A little pricier than other brands but worth it.
